About ASQ 411
AboutHistory
The American Society for Quality Control came into existence in the USA, February 16, 1946 when 17 local quality control societies formed the ASQC. The Society grew quickly and soon crossed the borders into Canada. ASQ Nova Scotia Section 411 came into existence in 1992 when Nova Scotia members of ASQC who were registered in the Montreal section requested a section of their own. Marilyn Hutchins and Carlos Avelar were particularly instrumental in the process. Bill MacLellan was the first official chair registered in Milwaukee. The first Quality Forum was held in Nova Scotia in 1989.
