Job Purpose
: The Procurement Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the purchased material meets the quality standards of AS9100, ISO900, NADCAP etc. that is applicable to production of Aerospace/Defense components and assemblies at Composites Atlantic Limited.

Job Purpose
: The Procurement Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the purchased material meets the quality standards of AS9100, ISO900, NADCAP etc. that is applicable to production of Aerospace/Defense components and assemblies at Composites Atlantic Limited.

Specifications:
1. Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
2. Member of an accredited Association of a Provincial Professional Engineers.
3. Bilingualism is an asset.
4. Must have 3-5 years of progressive hands-on Quality and/or process engineering or supplier auditing experience.
5. Solid foundation in root cause analysis and problem solving techniques.
6. Effective communication and presentation skills.
7. Reporting organization facilitation and training skills in a requirement.
8. Knowledge of basic quality tools and techniques, understanding of FMEA, flow charts, control plans, SPC and variation reduction.
9. Working knowledge of measurement equipment and techniques.
10. Familiarity and understanding of Quality Management System and Quality Standards (ISO 9001) (AS9100) are required.
11. Ability to function in a team-based environment in identifying process improvement, quality issues and supplier performance.
12. Knowledge of EPICOPR ERP system would be an asset.

Mandatory Requirements:
• CAL is an aerospace and defense manufacturing company as such it is looking for candidates that are willing to undergo security clearance
• The candidate will move or is within 50Km of the commuting distance to CAL

Working Relationships:
- Maintain communications on all quality issues with the PQA Manager, Quality Director and
Materials Manager by means of formal quality reports.
- Communicate with suppliers to field and resolve quality issues in a diplomatic manner.
- Provide interdepartmental liaison across CAL in support of PQA activities

Duties:
1. Supplier Quality Management
• Procurement Quality to coordinate with customers and suppliers to reduce CAL’s Receiving Inspection requirements though: skip lot inspection and delegated source inspection at supplier.
• Procurement Quality Department to review, audit, coordinate and maintain all quality functions which relate to any controlled product purchased by CAL, including supplier auditing and monitoring of supplier performance
• Monitor and maintain the results from all supplier audits and internal inspections
• Issue CARs to the suppliers and ensure they are closed in timely manner
• Conduct trend analysis for corrective actions for suppliers and PQA functions
• Participate in the management reviews as required
• Identifies opportunities for improvement through process audits, and by analyzing adverse quality trends
• Perform root cause analyses and employs problem solving techniques to resolve process problems both within CAL and at the supplier sites

2. Training
• PQA department is responsible for training of internal and external delegated source inspectors and also managing the third party source inspectors and receiving and inspection; audit the delegated functions in the Receiving department to ensure compliance with all related Quality Assurance Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.

3. Participate in Meetings & MRB Process
• Participate in Program review Meetings and present Supplier Performance Metrics and Issues
• Participate in production and planning meeting as needed.
• It is the responsibility of the Procurement Quality Department to initiate and coordinate the MRB function within CAL with regards to purchased goods and parts.
• Procurement Quality Assurance is responsible of issuing the CARs to the suppliers and to close them once acceptable corrective action has been taken by the supplier.
